Loomly publishes your content to Meta's platforms through their extensive API. Troubleshooting Meta issues can be very tricky, so please refer to things that need to be checked below.
Here are some examples of cases the troubleshooting steps below would be applicable for:
- Can't connect my Instagram account
- Missing Facebook page from the dropdown (both for connecting Facebook and Instagram)
- Can't add multiple Instagram accounts to a Facebook page
- "Error validating access token" Facebook and Instagram failed post message
- "Publishing is only supported for Instagram professional accounts" Instagram failed post message
- "Application does not have permission for this action" Facebook and Instagram failed post message
- "The page you selected is not associated with an Instagram account" error when connecting Facebook and Instagram
Facebook troubleshooting:
- To start things off, please confirm whether you have a Facebook page or a Facebook profile.
- Please confirm that your personal Facebook profile is an Admin (Facebook access with full control) on the connected Facebook Page, and is listed here under People with Facebook Access.

3. Next up, you want to check the permissions granted to Loomly:
- Switch into your personal Facebook profile.
- Go to Facebook.com > Settings & Privacy > Settings > scroll down to Your Activity > Business Integrations
- Next to the box for Loomly, then click on "View and Edit"

Please ensure you've activated all the permissions:

If all permissions were already selected, you'll need to remove Loomly from Business Integrations in Facebook entirely, in order to then reestablish the authorization for Loomly to access your Facebook account with the correct permissions.
- Switch into your personal profile.
- Go to Facebook.com > Settings & Privacy > Settings > scroll down to Your Activity > Business Integrations
- Next to the box for Loomly, then click on "Remove"

Also, disconnect your Facebook account from inside Loomly, then reconnect again. You can do it from the Social Accounts tab of Calendar Settings.
Note: Please leave default permissions as is, allowing Loomly to have all permissions allowed

⚠️ Please note that you will need to reconnect all of your Facebook social accounts once this is done, by clicking on the red X button in each Social Accounts Tab for EACH calendar you administrate:
Here's a tip: you can complete reconnecting for all Facebook and all Instagram connections for each calendar from the hyperlinks provided.
📝 Note: If your FB profile has access to over 50 pages, Meta has a bug where they can't be displayed and selected from a dropdown due to it being a large number. The only workaround at the moment is to grant access to a FB profile that has access to less than 40 pages and connect through it.
4. In addition to that, please confirm that you are an Admin for the Page in Meta Business Manager here, in addition to being a Page Admin.
If not, please ask other Business Admins for your organization to go to Business Settings for your Page and add you there:
- Under Users, click on People. Then, click on the Invite People next to People.

- Ask them to enter your email address (or the email address of the person who is trying to link from Instagram), making sure to turn on the toggle next to Admin access.

NOTE: The email ID should be the same as linked to Facebook.
Instagram Troubleshooting:
- Make sure all of the steps from Facebook troubleshooting are completed as Facebook settings are crucial for Instagram accounts to function adequately.
- Next up, access Facebook as the connected Page (rather than your profile), then go to Settings > Linked Accounts > Instagram:
If you see a button that says:
Get Started, it means your Instagram account is linked to your Facebook Page but it hasn't been converted to a business account. Click Get Started and follow the on-screen prompts to convert your Instagram account to a professional account. Then, try connecting your Instagram account again.
Review Connection, it means that the account must be confirmed before third-party applications are able to verify the connection. Please click the button and follow the prompts to confirm. Note: If you encounter issues with this process, you may need to reach out to Facebook Support in order to confirm the connection.
If you don't see any of these options, please try disconnecting your Instagram account from your Facebook Page, then reconnecting it.
📝 Notes:
- We cannot support direct publishing for Instagram personal accounts, due to limitations with Instagram's Content Publishing API.
- Only 1 Instagram account can be connected to 1 Facebook page, for every additional Instagram account, you'd need to have a separate, corresponding page.
3. As the last step, please try connecting your Facebook page to the Instagram account through the Instagram mobile app
- Open the Instagram app on your mobile device.
- Go to your Instagram profile view, and select 'Edit profile'.
- Under Public business information or Profile information section, select 'Page'.
- Tap 'Create Facebook Page' or 'Connect an existing Page'.
- Choose the Page that you'd like to connect
- Tap 'Done' after you've selected a Page, or created a new Page
