Do you support stories?

We support stories for Instagram Business accounts and Facebook Pages!

 

Instagram and Facebook single video or image stories can be automatically published. If you'd like to use stickers or links, then you also have the option to manually publish with the help of reminders.

A story can also be scheduled with multiple images, multiple videos, or a combination of the two with a maximum of 10 media files.

How to create and schedule stories:

  • Select Instagram or Facebook in Post Builder

  • In the Fine-Tune Content, select "Stories" by clicking on the toggle

  • Upload an image or a video with the right format for a story (1080px by 1920px)

    • 💡 Pro tip: If you don't have an image on hand, use our Unsplash integration to search for a portrait version and then edit the uploaded image with Loomly Studio.

  • You can then choose to Save as Draft, Submit for Approval, Schedule, or Publish Now

  • In the Post View, you'll be able to preview and collaborate with your team on your Story:

How to automatically publish Instagram stories

Instagram stories with one attached image or video can be automatically published.

 

Instagram has media requirements on the types of stories that can be automatically published. If your attached image or video doesn't meet these specifications, then the story will need to be manually published with the help of reminders.

 

📝 Note:

  • Captions are not available through the API for automatic publishing, but you can add a text overlay to an image or video using our built-in image & video editor: Loomly Studio.

  • If you would like to add stickers, then you can select the manual publishing method and use reminders instead.

  • Automatic publishing will be the default selection unless your attached media does not meet Instagram's requirements. In this case, Manual publishing will be selected by default without the ability to select automatic publishing until you've fixed the issues identified.

  • Please remove any additional media files or update your image to meet Instagram's requirements to have automatic publishing available.

 

Image requirements for automatic publishing

  • Format: JPEG

  • File size: 8 MB maximum.

  • Aspect ratio: We recommended 9:16 to avoid cropping or blank spaces

  • Color Space: sRGB. Images using other color spaces will have their color spaces converted to sRGB

Video requirements for automatic publishing

  • Container: MOV or MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14), no edit lists, moov atom at the front of the file.

  • Audio codec: AAC, 48khz sample rate maximum, 1 or 2 channels (mono or stereo).

  • Video codec: HEVC or H264, progressive scan, closed GOP, 4:2:0 chroma subsampling.

  • Frame rate: 23-60 FPS.

  • Picture size:

    • Maximum columns (horizontal pixels): 1920

    • Required aspect ratio is between 0.1:1 and 10:1 but we recommend 9:16 to avoid cropping or blank space

  • Video bitrate: VBR, 25Mbps maximum

  • Audio bitrate: 128kbps

  • Duration: 60 seconds maximum, 3 seconds minimum

  • File size: 100MB maximum

 

How to automatically publish Facebook stories

Facebook stories with one attached image or video can be automatically published. Facebook also has different media requirements for types of stories that can be automatically published.

 

📝 Note: Captions are not supported for videos at this time.

 

Image requirements for automatic publishing

  • Format: JPEG or PNG

  • File size: 4MB maximum

  • Recommend size: 1MB or less, or the image may appear pixelated

Video requirements for automatic publishing

  • Format: MP4 (recommended) or MOV

  • Aspect ratio: 9 x 16

  • Resolutions: 1080 x 1920 pixels (recommended); 540 x 960 pixels minimum

  • Frame rate: 24-60 FPS

  • Duration: 3 - 60 seconds

     

How to publish Stories with the help of reminders:

If you'd like to include stickers and links, we recommend that you use reminders to schedule Instagram and Facebook stories:

  • When it is time to post, you will receive a push notification from Loomly's mobile app. This will open the Instagram or Facebook app with the picture(s) / video(s) saved.

    • When the Instagram app opens, you can choose between a story and a feed. Choose Story, add any Instagram stickers you like, and publish it.

    • When the Facebook app opens, click Create story, add any stickers you like, and publish the story.

 

📝 Note:

  • You can add link stickers if you manually publish using Loomly's reminders.

  • We support Instagram story analytics in Advanced Analytics. You can also filter stories by Post Labels.
